The Carangas Canyon is located in the heart of Ponga Natural Park, in Carangas, Asturias. It is a fascinating level 2 canyoning destination that offers adventurers a unique experience. Additionally, it’s important to note that access to Carangas Canyon is only possible through authorized active tourism companies, thus ensuring safety and conservation of this unique natural environment.
After a short van ride of approximately 35-40 minutes from our activity base in Arriondas and a brief 5-minute walk to the top of the canyon, you’ll embark on a journey of around 2 hours. During this time, you’ll experience exciting sections of both horizontal and vertical progression. Carangas Canyon:

The Carangas canyon route, approximately 2 hours long, offers an exciting variety of challenges amidst breathtaking scenery. As you progress along the riverbed, you’ll face a series of thrilling challenges including walking on the riverbed or rocks, sliding down natural slides, jumping into refreshing water pools, and perhaps most excitingly, performing 4 rappels between 8 and 20 meters high. These rappels add an extra dose of excitement and require proper safety and descent techniques to overcome them safely.
The Carangas canyon is located high in the mountains, offering you impressive panoramic views as you descend. Once you complete the descent, the exit will take you approximately 10 minutes walking to the meeting point with the transport that will take you back to our base.
