About the Beach Bars of the Sella River Descent
The Sella beach bars are located on the riverbanks, near certain river beaches. They are strategically positioned at ideal points to comfortably park your canoe and enjoy an entertaining break.
Each of the venues has different characteristics. There are beach bars that are closer to the river and, therefore, have impressive panoramic views of it, while others are somewhat farther away, located among trees, in a privileged natural setting. Some are quieter with a prevailing atmosphere of rest and relaxation, while others may have busier and livelier environments and may even have live music.
One of the biggest advantages of the dynamics of the Sella beach bars is that, if you’re not comfortable at the stop or you feel like continuing the route, you can buy there and take the drink and/or food in your canoe and stop at a place of your preference. Your way! And that’s because you have watertight containers to store any belongings without risk of water damage.
Each beach bar offers different services and it’s advisable to consider that some of them may not be open depending on the time of year or weather conditions. Additionally, you should keep in mind that some may not accept credit cards, so it’s highly recommended to bring some cash if you want to visit any of them.
Beach Bars of the Sella River Descent
The beach bars we can find on the banks of the Sella River are: El Oasis, El Prau de Abajo, La Mediana, and Toraño. Important! All of them are located within the first 7 or 8 kilometers, so if you’re going to do a longer route, it’s important to plan your itinerary taking this information into account. - El Oasis and El Prau
Both are located about 2 kilometers from the start. The first one you’ll find is El Oasis, and a little further on, El Prau is located. Both are ideal stops to take a short break, enjoy the atmosphere and nature, and regain energy to continue descending the Sella.
- La Mediana
Located about 3 kilometers from the start, it’s one of the most popular points to rest, socialize, and have a drink or eat before resuming the descent.
- Toraño
This is the last beach bar, about 7-8 kilometers from the start. It’s located after the Toraño bridge and is a perfect place to make a final stop before finishing the activity and sharing your experience with your companions or other adventurers.
Toraño is located next to our services and changing rooms, the only ones that can be found halfway through the route. Additionally, it’s also the first pickup point for Cangas Aventura, so if you decide, you can end your adventure at this point.
Our Facilities
If you need to recover or gain strength before or after the descent, in our facilities we have a picnic area and a rest area where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings with your provisions.
If by any chance you don’t have food or drink, don’t worry! In our parking lot you can find the Chiringuito Motero Arriondas, which offers a wide variety of dishes (sandwiches, fries, combo plates, hamburgers…) at affordable prices.
Furthermore, we are the only company that provides restrooms and changing rooms halfway through the route. You can find them at our first pickup point, next to El Toraño beach bar. Take a break and take the opportunity to relax and enjoy at the beach bar, use our bathrooms and changing rooms, and decide whether to continue the adventure or end it. It’s your choice!
